This is another of our quick vegan recipes that is healthy and tasty. I don’t like to eat seitan by itself, so here I’m spicing it up with gyros spice.
- Seitan (one package of 150g of seitan is good for one portion)
- Couscous (100g per portion)
- Gyros spice
- Frying pan
- Chopping board
- Water boiler or kettle
1/ Broccoli: Fill the pot with a few centimeters of water (1-2 inches). Put the steamer inside the pot and put the broccoli on it. Close the lid. Steam for 10-15 minutes until the broccoli is soft.
2/ Fried seitan: Warm up some oil on the frying pan. In the meantime, open the seitan package, and cut the seitan into small pieces. They should not be more than 1-2 centimeters (half an inch) thick. Spice them up with gyros spice and put them on the frying pan. Fry for 3-5 minutes on both sides (until the pieces get a golden color).
3/ Couscous: Put the couscous inside a bowl or pot and pour boiling water on it. Close the lid or cover the bowl with a plate and keep it on for 2-3 minutes.
